1. Scope of Services

DataTopLaw provides legal consulting, compliance documentation, and advisory services related to data privacy, cybersecurity, and regulatory obligations (including GDPR and PIPEDA). All content is intended for informational and strategic use by businesses, institutions, or legal professionals.

2. Client Eligibility

Our services are available to individuals aged 18+ or legal business entities. By accessing our content or booking services, you confirm that you are legally permitted to engage in binding agreements on behalf of yourself or your organization.

3. User Obligations

  • Provide accurate and complete information during consultations or service requests
  • Do not submit false, malicious, or third-party confidential data without authorization
  • Respect the intellectual property and confidentiality clauses attached to all materials received

4. Payment & Refund Policy

Payments for consultations or compliance services are due in full before service delivery unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  • Full refunds are available if cancellation is requested at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled consultation and no service has commenced.
  • Partial refunds (up to 50%) may be offered if work has started but not completed.
  • No refunds are issued once a document is delivered or a consultation has taken place.
  • All refund requests must be submitted in writing to info@datatoplaw.com within 5 business days of payment.

5. Limitation of Liability

DataTopLaw does not guarantee legal outcomes. All services are provided “as-is” and do not constitute formal legal representation. We shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including business losses or reputational harm.

6. Confidentiality

We treat all client-submitted data and discussions as confidential. However, clients are responsible for ensuring proper authorization to share sensitive or personal data through our platform.

7. Modifications

We reserve the right to update or revise these Terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes implies your acceptance of the updated terms.

8. Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Nanaimo, BC.
